Relocating to Dublin, Ohio for an Executive Role? A Local Guide to Homes, Neighborhoods & Lifestyle
A new leadership position may bring you to Columbus. Choosing where to live is a different decision—and one worth getting right. Dublin offers established golf communities, custom homes, walkable luxury residences and access to major employers, but the right address depends on how you want to live.
I’m Andrew Robinson, a Luxury & Executive Real Estate Advisor with Real of Ohio | REAL Brokerage Technologies. Since 2014, I’ve helped Central Ohio buyers and sellers navigate decisions involving location, property condition, long-term value and lifestyle. This guide draws on that local experience and my original Dublin-area housing market research—not a one-size-fits-all relocation checklist.
Why consider Dublin, Ohio for an executive relocation?
Dublin sits northwest of Columbus, with established employment centers and connections to I-270 and US 33/SR 161. The City of Dublin identifies an extensive corporate presence and a mix of residential, recreational and business districts. Yet choosing Dublin is not simply about proximity to an office: it is about finding the right balance among privacy, neighborhood character, commute and maintenance.
One executive may want a wooded custom home near Muirfield Village. Another might prefer a contemporary residence within walking distance of Bridge Park restaurants. A household planning to stay for many years may prioritize a flexible floor plan and outdoor space; someone who travels weekly may place more value on easy highway access and a home that requires less upkeep.
If your search extends beyond Dublin, see my 2026 executive relocation and luxury homebuyer's guide to Columbus, which also considers Powell, New Albany and surrounding communities.
Which Dublin-area neighborhoods should executives consider?
There is no single “best” neighborhood. Here are several distinct lifestyle choices I would compare, with availability, HOA details and individual property features verified at the address level.
| Community / area | What makes it distinctive | Best questions to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Muirfield Village | Established residences, mature landscaping, golf-oriented setting and a broad range of custom-home styles. | What are the specific association rules, lot characteristics, condition and golf-membership arrangements? Most of Muirfield is not gated. |
| Tartan Fields | Golf-oriented neighborhoods and larger executive homes in a setting familiar to long-time Dublin luxury buyers. | How do updates, site quality and HOA or club arrangements compare with newer construction? |
| Bridge Park / Historic Dublin | Walkable dining, activities and upscale attached-home and condominium options, often with less yard maintenance. | What are the monthly fees, parking arrangements, outdoor spaces, noise exposures and ownership restrictions? |
| Jerome Village / northwest Dublin area | Newer floor plans, modern finishes and custom-home options across the broader northwest corridor. | Does this home actually fall inside Dublin municipal limits or Dublin City Schools? Which property taxes and HOA costs apply? |
| Selected gated enclaves | Some buyers prioritize controlled entry, privacy or a low-maintenance ownership format. | Is this specific street or section gated, and what services does the association actually provide? |
My perspective: Buyers relocating from larger metropolitan areas sometimes focus initially on square footage. I encourage them to pay just as much attention to lot orientation, tree cover, traffic patterns, home age, first-floor living options and the likely buyer pool when they eventually resell. These factors can make two similarly priced Dublin homes feel very different.
Traditional luxury or walkable luxury?
This is one of Dublin’s most interesting decisions. Muirfield Village and Tartan Fields offer a more traditional custom-home experience; Bridge Park offers an alternative where walkability and proximity to dining may matter more than acreage. I explored this changing preference in The Bridge Park Effect: How Walkability Is Redefining Dublin Luxury Real Estate.
Considering a gated community?
Do not assume every golf community is gated or that a gate guarantees security. The entrance, community rules and maintenance obligations can differ dramatically. My 2026 guide to gated communities in Dublin and Powell compares specific areas, including gated enclaves near Muirfield and other options across the corridor.
How much do executive homes cost in Dublin? What the latest data show
It is risky to plan a relocation from one online “average home price.” An executive shopping for a custom home in Muirfield is competing in a different segment from someone considering a newer condominium near Bridge Park. I review closed sales alongside active listings, pricing changes, school assignments, age, upgrades and comparable properties.
November 2026 Dublin-area market snapshot
Scope matters: These figures come from my October 31, 2026 MLS data analysis of residential listings assigned to Dublin City School District, which includes mailing addresses outside the City of Dublin. They are not a City of Dublin municipal-only median or live November 2026 inventory figures. Median price changes do not establish appreciation for an individual home.
The same analysis showed 290 active listings in the supplied October 31 snapshot; 147 had asking prices below their original list prices. That does not mean those homes sold at a discount. It means buyers had more actively repriced alternatives to consider. For relocating executives, it reinforces the value of comparing each home with its live competition rather than assuming every attractive home will sell immediately.

Dublin mailing address, school district and property taxes: three different things
One of the most important things I explain to buyers moving from out of state is that “Dublin address” does not automatically mean City of Dublin or Dublin City Schools. Some Dublin City School District homes have Columbus, Powell or Plain City mailing addresses, and the City of Dublin itself crosses portions of Franklin, Delaware and Union counties.
Check these independently for every property: (1) municipal jurisdiction, (2) school district and current/future attendance assignment, (3) county and tax district, and (4) HOA, special assessments and any additional fees.
Important for 2027–28: Dublin City Schools publishes separate school locators for the 2026–27 and 2027–28 school years because attendance boundaries are changing. Even buyers without school-age children may want to understand the assignment because it can affect how a future buyer evaluates a property. Use the district's official address-specific school boundary tools rather than relying on a listing headline.
For taxes, review the property’s actual parcel record and the relevant county auditor rather than applying a single Dublin-wide tax rate. Housing budgets should also include insurance, utilities, any HOA or condominium dues, potential maintenance and employer-related local income-tax questions. Consult your tax adviser regarding relocation reimbursements and applicable income taxes.
Commutes, airport access and what daily life really feels like
A home can look convenient on a map and still create a frustrating routine. I recommend testing actual routes from shortlisted properties to the office, frequent meeting locations and John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH).
- I-270: Essential for many regional employment and airport trips.
- US 33 / SR 161: Useful for Dublin-area connections and trips toward other regional corridors.
- Sawmill Road, Avery-Muirfield Drive and local connectors: Often matter just as much as interstate distance for the final portion of the commute.
Check live routing at the times you would actually leave—perhaps 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.—and compare several weekdays. For frequent flyers, budget for the entire door-to-gate experience, not just the drive. Remote and hybrid workers should also verify internet service at the specific address and evaluate whether the floor plan provides a truly private office for calls.
What about Dublin's lifestyle outside of work?
Consider how often you want to walk to restaurants or events, whether you enjoy golf or trails, and how much exterior upkeep you want on a typical weekend. The Bridge Street District and Historic Dublin offer a different rhythm from residential golf neighborhoods, and neither is inherently the better choice. Your weekday routine and weekend priorities should drive the decision.
My recommended executive relocation process
For a move involving a new position, two households, an employer deadline or a simultaneous home sale, I prefer to work backward from the actual move date. A disciplined plan creates time to investigate important details without rushing into the wrong property.
| Stage | Priority decisions | Practical action |
|---|---|---|
| Before the search | Role location, relocation assistance, housing budget, cash vs. financing, sale of existing home | Clarify employer benefits; obtain financing preapproval or verify purchase funds; identify must-haves. |
| Neighborhood shortlist | Commute, privacy, schools, walkability, age of home, maintenance | Compare 3–5 well-matched neighborhoods and test real routes. |
| Property due diligence | Comparable sales, improvements, HOA, tax parcel, school assignments, inspections | Review documents, condition and market position before making an offer. |
| Contract to closing | Financing, appraisal, inspection response, closing logistics, occupancy | Coordinate deadlines with the lender, title company, movers and employer. |
| First 30–90 days | License and vehicle transfers, utilities, healthcare, household setup | Complete required administrative changes and get settled into your routine. |
Should you buy immediately or rent first?
Renting temporarily can be sensible when the employer assignment is uncertain, your current home is not yet sold or you simply have not spent enough time in the area. Buying may fit better when the location and time horizon are clear and you find a home with the layout and setting you need. I do not recommend buying purely to beat an arbitrary relocation deadline; the cost of a poor fit can exceed the inconvenience of temporary housing.
What should you request from your employer?
Ask HR or the relocation provider what is included for moving, temporary housing, travel, closing costs, home-sale assistance, storage and household support. Also ask how benefits are administered and reported for tax purposes. Packages differ; no one should assume that a particular item is reimbursed or deductible.
Your first 90 days: important details
- Before moving: Set up utilities, broadband, insurance and mail forwarding; retain closing and relocation documents.
- First 30 days: Check Ohio's new-resident licensing and vehicle-title/registration rules. The Ohio BMV says newly established residents are responsible for transferring their out-of-state credentials and vehicle documents within 30 days.
- First 30–60 days: Confirm healthcare, school registration if applicable, service providers and household routines.
- By 90 days: Reconcile reimbursements, review actual ownership expenses and identify any follow-up home projects.
How I help executive buyers evaluate Dublin
My role is to provide more than a list of available homes. I help clients understand how the neighborhood, floor plan, property condition, location and competing inventory affect both everyday enjoyment and resale considerations. That can include virtual previews for out-of-state buyers, reviewing recent comparable sales, coordinating showings efficiently, evaluating new construction against resale homes and structuring a thoughtful offer.
For luxury and executive purchases, details matter: mature landscaping versus new-build convenience; the location of a primary suite; a wooded lot versus an open rear yard; actual HOA obligations; and whether a beautifully presented property is supported by the local market data.

Frequently asked questions about relocating to Dublin, Ohio
Is Dublin, Ohio a good place to live for executives?
Dublin is worth comparing for buyers who value established executive housing, business access, recreational amenities and choices ranging from custom-home neighborhoods to walkable residences. Whether it fits depends on your actual work destinations, housing preferences, budget and lifestyle.
What are the best neighborhoods in Dublin for luxury homes?
Muirfield Village and Tartan Fields are established options to explore; the Estates at Muirfield Village offers a distinct gated enclave. Bridge Park appeals to buyers interested in walkability, while the northwest corridor has newer construction options. The strongest match depends on an individual home and your priorities.
What is the median home price in Dublin, Ohio?
In my November 2026 market report, the October 2026 median residential closed price was $667,500 for the Dublin City School District area, not specifically the municipal City of Dublin. For a particular property, recent comparable sales are more useful than a district-wide median.
Does a Dublin mailing address guarantee Dublin City Schools?
No. Municipal limits, postal addresses and school boundaries are different. Check the exact property in Dublin City Schools' official address lookup, including the 2027–28 boundary changes where relevant.
How far is Dublin from Columbus airport?
Travel depends on the exact address, time of day and traffic. Many Dublin-area routes use I-270. Compare live travel estimates from individual properties and allow additional time for parking, security and boarding.
Should I buy new construction or an established luxury home?
New construction may offer contemporary layouts and lower near-term maintenance, while established properties may offer mature trees, larger or more private lots and distinctive architectural details. Compare total costs, builder terms, location, home condition and resale alternatives.
Can you help me relocate before I move to Ohio?
Yes. I work with relocation buyers and can help narrow neighborhoods, review property information, coordinate an efficient visit and assess comparable sales and transaction logistics before and after you arrive.
What if I need to sell an existing home before buying?
We can discuss timing, financing contingencies, temporary housing and the risk of carrying two homes. If your current property is in Central Ohio, I can also provide a property-specific market analysis and selling strategy.
